Veterans Day remembered in Motley

Jerry Konen, 1958 graduate of Motley High School, was in attendance at the Veteran's Day program held at the middle school in Motley Nov. 11. Konen, who now lives in Garrison, was a member of the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and served in Vietnam for one year in 1966. He is also the Ex-Commander for the 6th District. Konen's niece, Linda Card, is a teacher at Motley Elementary School. Chelcee's essay, "The Unknown Soldier," was a tribute to her grandfather, Charlie Farber, a Motley native who served in WWII.
