Texgas Corporation has appointed Gary Cowles as manager of the Staples branch. The appointment was announced by the Midwest region general manager. Cowles succeeds William Archer who was promoted to manager of the company's Hayward, Wisconsin Branch.

The children o f Mr. and Mrs. Sylves- ter Wicht invite friends and relatives to attend their open house honoring their parents on their 50th wedding anniversary. The open house will be Sunday, November 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Verndale.

50 Years Ago - 1959

Todd County Sheriff James Bain reported today that three 13-year-old boys who left the children's home in St. Cloud have been apprehended in Duluth and are being held there in connection with the stealing of the Plymouth station wagon belonging to Richard Nagel of Staples. The boys confessed to taking the automobile when it was parked in front of the Nagel's home.
