What can we say about forty years?

2009-11-05 / Letters

Forty years ago, the internet was created. Fortysome years ago, we landed on the moon. Forty years ago, I was 38 and selling investments and insurance. Forty years ago, the railroad crossing on 6th Street was bumpy and ruining shock absorbers on cars and trucks every day.

But wonders never cease. It's hard to believe, but the railroad has finally smoothed out the crossing on 6th Street. Hopefully, I'll enjoy at least few years driving over the now smooth crossing, but I doubt I'll enjoy another forty years of it. Will anybody? Enjoy life — and driving on 6th Street — as long as you can.

Life is too short to worry about tomorrow.
