Collecting for food shelf


Approximately 70 kids from at least seven local churches participated in the annual "Trick or Treat for the Staples Area Food Shelf" event Oct. 25. Youth group members and leaders met at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples; and were transported by hay-wagons to various streets in town. Pictured below, Tyler Glines (left) and Eli Beachy (center) receive their first canned goods from fellow 8th grader Brent Sterriker. Glynn Kaste reported that more food was brought into the food shelf than any other year. "We're thankful to the efforts of these kids," he said.
