Charles Clabots
Charles H. Clabots, 85, of Maplewood; formerly of Staples and Brainerd, died Oct. 6, 2009, in St. Paul.
Funeral services were held Oct. 12, at the Church Of St. Jerome, in Maplewood. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Arrangements were with the Mueller-Bies Funeral Home in Roseville.
Charles was born April 14, 1924, in Staples to Carl and Hattie (Murgess) Clabots. He served in WW II with the U.S. Navy and Army Air Corps as a flight officer; service with the Army Corps of Engineers; and 35 years with the Minnesota Department of Transportation as an engineer.
Charles is survived by
his wife of 56 years, Claire "Peggy" (St. Pierre); three sons, Charles; William (Connie); Thomas; three grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Mangan, of Chicago; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Bill.
Memorials preferred to the Little Sisters of the Poor or St. Jerome's School.
