Brenda Jill Voeltz-Crego, 46, of Minneapolis, formerly of Staples, died Oct. 9, 2009 at her home.

Funeral services are Friday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m., at the Staples United Methodist Church with a visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.

Brenda was born on March 17, 1963, in Minneapolis, to Manuel and Ruth (Geiger) Voeltz. She attended school in Staples, graduating with honors in 1981. During high School she was active in music, playing piano for choir, and worked at Perry's Ben Franklin. After high school she moved to Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota. She married Tom Crego in October 1996. She loved to travel, play piano and volunteer at nursing homes. She loved her pets, taking walks, enjoyed gardening and interior decorating.

For the last 20 years she worked as a sales consultant in the interior design industry. She also worked at I-Space (Workplace 2000), Brooks Interiors, Target Commercial Interiors and was currently employed as an independent contractor with Hendricksen Office Furniture.

Brenda is survived by her parents, one brother, Tim (JoAnn), all of Staples; aunts and uncles: Ivan and Janice Voeltz, Doug and Diane Geiger, Dale VanWey, Gordon and Jean Voeltz, Carol Thorsfeldt- Geiger, and Dennis and Wilma Johnson; cousins; many special friends and co-workers.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; two uncles, Russ and Howard; two aunts, Grace and Evelyn; two cousins; and her best friend Ben Jamin, her Golden Retriever.
