Man found after short search Sunday
A Verndale area man was found Sunday morning within hours after he was reported missing
Wadena County Sheriff Mike Carr reported his office was informed about 7 a.m., Sunday of a missing person just to the south of Verndale on County Road 23 in Aldrich Township.
Deputies learned that James Paul Quenzer, 24, had an argument with his girlfriend and supposedly stabbed himself in the left arm and had taken a large amount of various prescription medication.
Deputies were informed that Quenzer had left on foot at approximately 5 a.m. and family members were not able to locate him.
Sheriff Carr said Quenzer was located by a family friend in a corn field across the highway from the residence at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Tri-County Ambulance was called to the scene and Quenzer was taken to Tri- County emergency room and was later air lifted to St. Cloud Hospital where his condition is unknown at this time.
Carr said this case is still under investigation.
The sheriff's office was assisted by Minnesota State Patrol, Verndale First Responders and Tri-County Ambulance.
