Nominees sought for Community Award
Do you know an organization that has made outstanding contributions to the local community?
Todd-Wadena Electric Cooperative is seeking applications for the fifth annual Touchstone Energy Community Award, which recognizes businesses, non-profit and community groups that have shown strong commitment to the community. Any organization that has helped to make this area a better place to live and work is eligible for the $500 cash award.
Community members may nominate an organization, association or business by completing an application form, available at the Todd-Wadena office or online at www.toddwadena. coop. The application will require a description of the project, program or event and the positive impact it brought to the community. Completed applications must be received at Todd- Wadena's office by October 31, 2009. Questions may be directed to Pat Johnson, Public Relations Manager, at 631-3120 or 800-321-8932.
"Todd-Wadena came into existence because of local community involvement," Johnson said. "This award allows us to highlight and encourage other organizations that have shown a commitment to central Minnesota and its future."
The award recipient will be announced in November and will then contend for the statewide Touchstone Energy Community Award, which has a cash prize of $1,000. The statewide award winner will be recognized at the Minnesota Rural Electric Association annual meeting in March 2010.
Minnesota Touchstone Energy cooperatives are part of a national alliance of more than 650 electric cooperatives that adhere to the values of integrity, accountability, innovation and commitment to community.
