Highway 210 detour at railroad starting Monday
A detour on Highway 210 in Staples is set to begin Monday, Oct. 5, for work on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad crossing.
The detour will start when work commences, which is expected to be Monday, Oct. 5, through Friday, Oct. 9, weather permitting.
Traffic Impact:
The road will be closed at the railroad crossing and traffic will be detoured via Sixth Street, Wisconsin Avenue, Seventh Street and Eighth Street, all in Staples
Project Information:
Burlington Northern Santa Fe crews will reconstruct the railroad crossing on Highway 210.
Officials in Staples urge truck traffic to not use the Seventh Street detour, but rather proceed west through Staples on Highway 10 and return to Highway 210 using either County Roads 9 or 11 west of Staples. Likewise for east bound traffic on 210, turn north on either of those two county roads. County Road 11 is approximately 8 miles west of Staples and County Road 9 is about five miles west.
Drivers are urged to slow down and observe directional signs. For updated statewide traffic, construction, weather and travel information, visit www.511mn.org
