Anna Maria Williams, 89, of Staples, died Sept. 5, 2009 at the Lakewood Care Center in Staples.

Funeral services were held Sept. 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples. Burial was in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Staples.

Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.

Anna was born Jan. 15, 1920, in Benson, to Anton and Annie (Bunn) Lanske. She attended country school through the eighth grade. On Jan. 3, 1947, she married Charles Leslie Williams in Staples. Anna and Charles shared 57 years of marriage together before he died on June 4, 2004.

Anna enjoyed caring for family members who needed help, gardening and sewing. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Martha and Mary; five brothers, Tony, August, Adolph, Julius and Otto.

Anna is survived by one son, Gary (Patti) Williams of Apple Valley; two grandchildren, two brothers, Arthur Lanske of Staples; Raymond Lanske of Puyallup, Wash.; two sisters, Agnes Kaber of Enderlin, N.D.; and Clara Coleman of Winter Park, Fla.
