The Staples Historical Society will hold its annual meeting Thursday, Sept. 17, at T Maxwell's Restaurant in Staples.

Kay Browne will be the guest speaker from 6:45-7:15 p.m. She works with Partners for A Healthy Wadena Region and was instrumental in getting the Wadena Depot restored.

The annual meeting with election of officers will begin at 7:15 p.m. Updates on the society will be given and there will be drawings for door prizes.

An optional dinner before the meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Two entree choices are available and reservations are requested by noon, Sept. 14, to Amy Hunter at 218-894-1925 or Amy.coachamy@gmail. com.

"This meeting is a chance to give input into the happenings of the Staples Historical Society," said President Amy Hunter. "We need your participation. Please plan to attend."

Hunter added that all members are invited to the annual meeting and to hear the speaker, whether or not they choose to come for the dinner.
