Cardinal girls tennis has busy week, good results
      The Staples Motley girls tennis team last week had one of its busiest weeks of the year, competing in three meets and hosting one of them. On the way home from Madison, Wisc. on August 24, the girls stopped in Pine City for their annual Power Invitational.

Little Moran to host hunting fair Sept. 12-13
      The Little Moran Hunt Club will host, Hunting Experience with Tom Knapp, holder of three world records, shooting both days on Sept. 12-13. This first ever hunting fair will be a hands-on experience, giving fair goers an opportunity to see and try many aspects of conservation, hunting and hunting dogs. All at Little Moran Hunt club southwest of Staples on Red Oak Road.

      The Staples Motley boys cross country runners pulled out a fifth place finish, competing against 11 teams in the Shocky Strand Invitational on Monday, Au - gust 31.

      The Lady Cardinal runners started out the season this past Monday at the Shocky Strand Invitational at Moorhead, taking fifth place among eight teams. Tak- ing the meet was the host, Moorhead with 46 points.
