Playing for CLC

Katie Amundson Katie Amundson Katie Amundson of Motley, a 2009 Staples Motley High School graduate, is participating in intercollegiate volleyball at Central Lakes College this fall.

Amundson, a freshman, is a 5-foot, 8-inch outside hitter expected to see considerable playing time.

Jane Peterson, threetime national coach of the year, has a young team with nine first-year players on the roster.

The Raiders on Friday, Sept. 18 will make its 2009 home debut after several road trips, including two tournaments in Willmar. The Sept. 18 opponent at 6:30 p.m. will be Itasca. The next day, Sat., Sept. 19 at noon, CLC hosts Fond du Lac in a Homecoming match.

Central Lakes College won national volleyball championships in 2007, 2001 and 2000 and placed third in the nation four straight years.

Central Lakes College is a non-athletic scholarship, Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The Raiders compete in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.
