England Prairie days featured at Verndale
The 30th annual England Prairie Pioneer Days is set for this weekend, with events Friday through Sunday at the England Prairie grounds just south and west of Verndale.
Featured this year will be any and all Ford tractors. All day Saturday and Sunday participants can see steam engines, threshing machines, a saw mill, many antique tractors and antique farm machines in operation, plus other attractions. Those might include goat shearing, sock making, quilting, wool carding and spinning, a flea market and other attractions.
There is a Friday night gospel show featuring Sound Decision.
The Pioneers will feature an antique tractor pull Saturday, starting at 11 a.m., with tractors over 40 years old pulling.
There is a parade both Saturday and Sunday starting at 1 p.m., featuring any and all farm equipment on display. Threshing and saw mill operations will be ongoing each afternoon.
There will be plenty of food, featuring the England Prairie ladies and their kitchen offerings. An old fashioned breakfast is available Saturday and Sunday mornings, with a lunch served from 11:30 a.m. on both days.
