 Cement contractor Charlie Sowers power washed the base of the Civil War Memorial Statue at Evergreen Hill Cemetery this week. Sowers has removed the old stucco from the statue's pillar and replaced the plaster, which was wearing out and allowing water to infiltrate. The Evergreen Hill Cemetery Association began raising funds last year to make the repairs on the statue. (Staples World photo by Tom Crawford) |
