2009-07-16 / Current Happenings

Lakewood Health System will host "HealthBEAT for Her: Be in the Pink," Monday, July 27, beginning at 4 p.m. in its Main Campus classrooms, Staples.

This event is part of LHS's 2009 HealthBEAT's speaking series, which offers presentations, facts and discussion on unique services and programs.

"Be in the Pink" is an event designed to cover the scope of breast health at LHS: breast self exams and other preventative measures, mammography facts, LHS's breast health technology; and presentations by LHS's Breast Health Navigator, Radiology Manager and a breast cancer survivor.

Following a social time, presentations will begin at 4:30 p.m. They include:

o Be in the Pink: Breast Cancer Facts, by Kristin Posner, RN, Breast Health Navigator

o Newest Technologies in Breast Health, by Charlene Sauer, RTR M, Radiology Manager

o A Survivor's Story, by Libby Peterson.

LHS looks for ways to provide information, tools and support to deliver the best healthcare possible. Through technology like breast specific gamma imaging and digital mammography, LHS's breast health team offers comprehensive, innovative care.

Attendees will learn breast self-exam techniques with LHS's simulated breast model while enjoying snacks and conversation with friends and LHS professionals.
