Skilly and Duff is a trio specializing in Irish traditional songs. The group got together when Bruce Kelly of Elbow Lake and Mikko Cowdery of Osakis discovered their mutual love for old Irish songs, many of which they had both learned as children. They soon added Annie O'Flynn on keyboards to round out the trio.

They take a casual, pubsession approach to their music, emphasizing fun, humor, sing-alongs, poems, toasts, and even a bit of blarney.

The name Skilly and Duff comes from an old recipe that is a mixture of fried potatoes and fried eggs. This dish, in the fishing villages of the British Isles, is usually topped with "the catch of the

day." Kelly

explains, "I'm Skilly.

Mikko is Duff. And of course we always

think of Annie

as the 'catch of the

day.' "

The Music in the Park Series is funded by the Staples Host Lions Club. The Series is organized by the Staples Motley Area Arts Council, with the assistance of the Staples Motley Public Schools and the City of Staples.
