The Staples Motley School Board will meet at 6:45 p.m., Monday, July 20, at the Staples Motley High School media center.

A school/community forum time will start the meeting providing the board chair and/or superintendent have been contacted by noon of the day of the meeting regarding topic.

Lynn Peterson will present a proposal from Arvig Communication System regarding the press box.

Tentative agenda items include:

Curriculum and instruction items including a review by Cindy Swenson on physical education/ health, fine arts and social studies curriculum and approval of extra-curricular coaches.

Finance items including certification of health and safety projects; approving school resource officer agreements with the cities of Staples and Motley; approving annual contracts with TCC Head Start, Todd County Public Health and WIC; Tri-County CAP; Sacred Heart Area School; Staples Community Center; Todd County early childhood screening; Central Lakes College, Freshwater Education District and Lakewood Health System for consortium share of health occupations program; Browerville School District for health occupational services of Donna Bestland; Eagle Valley School District for special language therapist time of Keri Ellingson.

Personnel items including hiring Keri Ellingson as special language therapist, Alina Robinson as special education instructor in Motley and Jilene Feimeyer as communications coordinator; and approving a leave of absence for Aletha Flickinger.

Policy revisions on eight policies reflecting legislative and other recommended changes.

Resolutions including sale of general obligation aid anticipation certificates, authorizing a school board absentee ballot board, appointing election judges for Sept. 8 election, establish dates for filing for school board offices.

Other items including approval of student handbooks, fee schedule and dates for November school board election.

Reports from the school board, building principals, high school activities director/ dean of students, middle school dean of students, buildings and grounds supervisor and superintendent will be given.
