Public comment sought for Todd County Comprehensive Plan
Todd County's Comprehensive Planning committee is encouraging further citizen engagement in completion of the comprehensive plan.
The committee is issuing sets of questions that they would like citizens to answer. The first two sets are given here.
Economic Development
1. If you were going to start or expand a business (including agriculture businesses) in Todd County, what resources would you need?
2. What resources would keep you in Todd County, or help you to make the decision to return to Todd County if you left?
3. What is your age?
Transportation and Housing
1. Would you support a goal of having all of the county roads (not including township roads) paved by the year 2030?
2. Would it be helpful for economic development (including development of agri-business) if Todd County roads were developed as 10 ton roads?
3. What improvements or changes would you make to Todd County's transportation system in the next 20 years?
4. Is it important to you to have county roads widened for safety, recreation or other reasons?
5. Do we need more public transportation options connecting communities within the county, and/or connecting our communities to neighboring communities?
6. Senior citizens are a valuable resource for a community. Statistics show that five senior citizens in a community have the economic effect of having 15 good paying jobs for individuals still in their working years. What do we need to do in Todd County in terms of housing to help senior citizens remain in Todd County, and remain independent for as long as they are able to and desire to do so?
7. What do you see as the greatest challenge for housing in Todd County?
8. What is your age?
