Clarinda Gumke

Clarinda Gumke, 62, of Verndale, died June 25, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral services were held June 30, at the United Methodist Church in Verndale.

Burial was in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Verndale.

Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.

Clarinda was born July 18, 1946, in Steele, N. D., to George and Maggie (Kapp) Miller. She attended school in Deer Creek and high school in Wadena. She worked for Homecrest, as a welder, for almost 20 years, retiring in 1993. In August of 2000, she married Harry Gumke. Clarinda enjoyed gardening, canning, rummage sales and flea markets. She was a sales representative for Park Lane Jewelry and was a member of the Verndale United Methodist Church.

Clarinda is survived by her husband; one son, Russ (Debby) Andrews Jr. of Sartell; two daughters, Landa (Terry) Ackerman of Piggot, Ark.; Ronda (Steve) Symons of Knoxville, Tenn.; stepchildren, Joe (Charlene) Gumke of Gonzales, Calif.; Angela Gumke of Breckenridge; Michelle (Greg) Winter of Hollister, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, LeRoy Miller; two sisters, Violet Zimmer; Edna Peterson; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in

death by her parents; stepfather,

Herb Heubner; one sister, Adeline; and one brother Erwin.
