Brittany Brenny named top runner at UND

The University of North Dakota named Brittany Brenny, a Staples Motley High School graduate, as the Fighting Sioux track team's top track athlete for the 2009 tracks eason

Women's track and field coach Dick Clay named the top two awards for his team, awarding honors to Brenny for track and to senior Jessica Clausnitzer from Bismarck, N.D.) as the top field athlete on the team.

Brenny took third place in the 10,000-meter run at the Great West Outdoor Championships, then followed up that performance the next day with a runnerup finish in the 5,000-meter in a time of 17:29.86.

Brenny, a 2005 Staples Motley graduate, is the daughter of Peter and Terri Brenny of Staples.
