A different view
I have a sign in my car window that reads: SAVE THE BABIES—VOTE PROLIFE.
This past week, while my car was parked in front of a Staples business, someone with a differing view placed a note under my wiper blade that read: "Let women have a choice—if you don't like it, don't have one." Of course, the note was unsigned.
That the person was afraid to sign his or her name speaks of how weak that argument for abortion is. We must remember we're not talking about choosing between cleaning the house or not cleaning the house, we're talking about whether or not we will kill a living, human person (scientific fact—not religious opinion).
Apparently the person who put the note on my car believes "choice" is supreme. Try these: If you don't like rape, don't rape anyone, but allow others their choice in the matter... if you don't believe in child abuse, don't abuse one, but allow others their choice in the matter... if you don't believe in robbing banks, don't rob one, but allow others their choice in the matter.
The Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution grant equal protection of the law to all persons. Since medical science, not personal opinion, establishes that we are genetically complete human persons from the moment of conception (separate from but reliant upon our mothers) we must guarantee the Constitutional right to life to all persons— whether born or unborn.
Unlike the cowardly, anonymous note-writer, I'm quite willing to sign my name.
