Staples Motley High School graduates and audience members stood and applauded as four high school diplomas were presented to men who had left school to join the military in time of war. The diplomas were presented May 27 in the high school gym during the annual Cap and Gown ceremony to LIonel Stelck, left, Bob Sellnow, Janet Hoemberg Sanda  and Dennis Johnson. Janet was standing in for her father, the late Fritz Hoemberg, who died this past January. Hoemberg, Stelck and Sellnow served in WWII or Korea, while Johnson served during the Vietnam era.
