Pinocchio auditions slated for June 7
The Staples Motley Area Arts Council auditions for Prairie Fire Children's Theatre's original musical production of "Pinocchio" will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at the Centennial Auditorium in Staples.
Up to 65 local young people are needed to play the roles of Pinocchio, the Blue Fairy, Cricket, Cat, the Spirits of the Forest, the Townfold, the Vermin, the Hoolegans and the Puppets. Two prfessional actor/ directors from Prairie Fire will direct the production and play the roles of Geppetto/ Tempesto, the Puppet Master and the Fox.
Auditions are open to anyone age seven and up. The audition process lasts up to two hours and all auditioners are required to be in attendance the complete time. No preparation is needed to audition. A portion of the cast will be required to stay following the auditions for a rehearsal session. Rehearsals will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. the remainder of the week, with performances scheduled for Saturday, June 13 at 3 and 7 p.m. at the Centennial Auditorium in Staples.
Tickets will be available at the door. No reserved seating. This week long, Prairie Fire residency is being sponsored by the Staples Motley Area Arts Council.
