The 3M Foundation recently awarded Ingenuity Grants (totaling $13,810) to Motley Elementary and Motley Staples Middle schools.
3M Ingenuity Grants are offered by invitation only to public elementary or middle schools located in communities with 3M facilities. They are designed to support teachers as they
see opportunities to engage
students in their learning - challenging them to succeed.
The ingenuity grant recognizes these teachers and their efforts to prepare today's students for the future.
Joe Niggeler, Plant Manager of 3M in Staples; and 3M employee Gail Judd stopped by the schools in Motley May 13, to present the awards and to congratulate the teachers who were responsible for writing the grants.
"Good students don't happen by accident," Niggeler said. "It happens by great teachers like you who educate and prepare students for future citizenship."
Niggeler also thanked Bonnie Madson, MSMS secretary, for the help she provided in organizing the paperwork for the grants.
