Students prepared for post-secondary options

Staples Motley Schools
By Mark Schmitz Supt.

As we head into May, high school students will be busy making plans for summer jobs, prom dates and, for our sen iors, gradu- ation. Graduation is an impor- tant time in the life of a student. Along with their families, our faculty and staff are extremely proud Staples of our senior students for all their accomplishments and hard work over the last four years in high school.

Many of our students have decided to complete additional post secondary education - either in a technical/ vocational school, a two year community college or in a four year college setting. About 75 percent of our graduates go on to post secondary education. This high acceptance rate is due to our students having a well-rounded, strong educational background - which can also be seen in their strong ACT scores (college entrance exams).

Just like our students, as a school district, we continue to look toward the future with optimism and excitement. We closely monitor employment trends along with career educational requirements. It is vital to use that information to create opportunities for Staples Motley students.

We have many programs within the high school to

World help students explore various career interests, gain work experience to earn college credit. Our staff continually strives to offer relevant and interesting elective classes and activity groups. Through solid partnerships with Central Lakes College and Lakewood Health System, we are able to offer students access to technology and industry knowledge.

Regardless of what they choose to pursue, we hope our graduates and alumni will keep in touch with our schools even as they move onto new jobs and homes.
