daughter Cecelia Chavez of Motley,

spent the morning picking up trash along 1st Avenue and near Veteran's Park in

Motley. "Cecelia was the one who gave me the idea," Christina said, adding that the two take walks in this area and started noticing the litter when the snow melted. "Cecelia would point to some garbage and say, 'Icky, Mommy,'" Christina laughed. "So, we decided to do our part to help clean up the trash, instead of just looking at it." Originally from Rochester, Christina said her high school would help pick up litter along the highways twice a year. "I learned that if we all help just a little bit, it makes a big difference," she added.
