Staples Motley High School Art students participated in the Region 6 Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Visual Arts contest in New York Mills on April 8 with many receiving awards.

In drawing Ashley Ayers earned a Superior while also capturing Best of Show and Best of Category. Brooke Simonson earned a Superior, while DJ Kozitka earned an Excellent in drawing.

In painting, Danielle Ehresmann earned an excellent. Rocky Quamme received a Superior in photography. Elsie Greenwaldt received an Excellent in printmaking.

In sculpture, Catrena Branchaud received an Excellent. Megan Mertens earned an Excellent in Mixed Media.

Other participants who attended the Region 6 MSHSL Art Show included Annie Gillespie, Travis Myers, Kassie Lubitz and Ada Krawczak.
