FOR PROPOSED COMMUNICATIONS
TOWER
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will conduct a public information meeting on May 7, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Thomastown Township Town Hall, located at the intersection of 241st Avenue and County Hwy 2, in Wadena County, Minnesota.
PROJECT: MnDOT has a need to construct a 180- foot self-supporting communications tower in a specific area that includes portions of Thomastown and Bullard Townships.
The proposed tower will be a three legged, self-supporting tower (no wires) with a galvanized gray color finish. The proposed tower will not require any aircraft obstruction lighting. MnDOT requires approximately 0.50 acres of land for the tower.
MnDOT would like to take this opportunity to inform citizens of the need and benefits of a tower in this area as well as receive input from the local community. All interested persons are invited to attend the public information meeting.

at which time the bids will be received and evaluated. Bid results will be announced on May 7, 2009. Envelopes containing bids must be sealed, clearly marked on the lower lefthand corner "Bid Enclosed for Phase 2 - Library / City Hall" and with the name and address of the bidder.
Bids will be received for the following Prevailing Wage project:
Multi-use facility that will serve as the Public Library and City Hall for the City of Staples. Building includes council chambers, offices, library and support functions. The structural framework of the building shall consist primarily of load bearing stud walls, with some steel column and CMU walls. The exterior walls shall consist of wood stud construction. Interior partitions shall be light gauge metal stud. Roof construction shall consist of wood trusses.
Each bid must be accompanied with a cashier's check, bid bond, U.S. Government Bonds (at par value) or certified check equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposal. Security is payable to the Owner as a guarantee of prompt execution of the contract in accordance with the proposal and Contract documents. Payment and Performance Bonds of One Hundred percent (100%) of the bid amount will be required if awarded a contract.
Bids received after the deadline will be returned unopened. Bids are to be submitted on the forms provided in the project manual. Bids not received on the required forms will be cause for rejection. Bid Security shall be included. The Owner will be using the Best Value Procurement Method for selection purposes. Criteria and weighting for selection will be included in the Project Manual.
Bidders may obtain a set of documents from Widseth Smith Nolting, 7804 Industrial Park Road, Baxter, MN 56425. A non-refundable document deposit of $75.
Bids may not be withdrawn within forty-five (45) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids without consent of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bids or bidding not in the best interest of the Owner.
