Robert Case
Robert L. (Bob) Case Sr., 82, Staples, died March 20, 2009, at Lakewood Health System Care Center, Staples.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Staples. Visitation is Thursday, April 2, at Brenny Funeral Chapel, Staples, from 5 to 7 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Staples, at a later date.
Arrangements are with Brenny Funeral Home, Staples.
Robert L. Case Sr. was born on October 20, 1926, to Cyril V. and Lillie M. Case. He attended school in Staples and graduated with the Class of 1944.
Bob went to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1943. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served his country in the South Pacific during World War II. He was stationed aboard the destroyer John D. Henley. He was discharged as Seaman First Class on July 24, 1946.
Bob returned to Staples and worked for the Northern Pacific. He married Patricia Anne Jay on June 25, 1949. He retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1989.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a life long member of the Robert W. Hand VFW Post 1910.
Bob is survived by his wife Pat; four sons, Bob Jr. (Pennee), Cloquet; Doug (Toni), Staples; Dan (Gina), Apple Valley; and Bill (Lisa), Kannapolis, N.C.; one daughter, Cindy (Wayne) Bostel, Burnville; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and one brother, Alan (Nancy), Staples.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bruce Case..
