The Verndale Fire Department responded to a barn fire at 310 West Service Drive in Verndale just after midnight Tuesday morning, March 24.

The barn, which was located just across the road from the R & J fire from a few weeks earlier, appeared to be a total loss.

No injuries we re reported and the horses were removed by the owner without injuries to them.

Also assisting at the fire was the Verndale Police Department, the Wadena Fire Department and the Wadena County Sheriff's Department.

The cause of the fire had not been determined early Tuesday morning.
