Jesse Krause o MELISSA ROBERTS, Cushing, is a member of Bemidji State University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Melissa is a senior majoring in business administration.

o MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY, MOORHEAD, has announced its dean's list in recognition of academic achievement for fall semester 2008. Local students include:

o Staples - Kassie Martin, Jennifer Mueller.

o JESSE KRAUSE, Pillager High School senior, has been admitted to the University of Minnesota Duluth for the 2009-2010 academic year. He is the son of Kevin Krause; and Kathy and George Hehl. o AMY FREDMAN, Pillager, has earned Academic Distinction during the 2008 spring semester at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. A religious studies major, Amy was also named to the university's dean's list for the 2008 fall semester.

o MACHELE MICHELS, Motley, has been placed on the 2008 fall president's list at Riverland Community College.

o AMANDA EDIN, daughter of Marcus and Kim Edin, Staples, has been named to the dean's list for academic excellence at Bethel University, St. Paul, during the 2008 fall semester, with a GPA of 3.6.

o BENJAMIN SPAR, a senior at Concordia College, Moorhead, is touring with the Concordia Choir in Feb. and March. Spar is the son of William and Michele Spar, Staples.

o TRISHA LONGANECKER, Pillager, graduated from Bemidji State University with a bachelor of science degree in science education at the conclusion of the 2008 fall semester.

o LISA HASTE, Motley, was named to the fall semester 2008-2009 President's List at Central Lakes College.
