V-Day Brainerd joins global effort to stop violence against women and girls.

Central Lakes College in Brainerd will be the site of V-Day events, including performances of "The Vagina Monologues," to raise funds for the Women's Center of Mid-Minnesota and Sexual Assault Services, Inc.

Both are based in Brainerd

and serve Crow Wing County and the surrounding

region.

Organizers of V-Day Brainerd have scheduled:

o A free public showcase and discussion of the antiviolence resources in our area featuring self-defense and intervention experts, community leaders, survivors and local service organizations. It will be in C240 (The Cube), Sat., March 28, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

o "The Vagina Monologues," Eve Ensler's award-winning play based on hilarious and revealing interviews with over 200 women, in the Music Hall, Sat., April 4, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 5, 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
