The No. 1 seed Staples Motley Cardinal girls won the West Sub Section 6AA tournament Tuesday, downing No. 2 seed Benson 56-52 at Minnesota Morris on Tuesday night. More ... Ann and Robb Peterson of 275th Avenue just south of Staples had a surprise visitor just before 5 p.m. Tuesday. A pickup driven by Tim Mears of Staples left Hwy. 210 on the curve, crossed a ditch and the avenue before crashing into the side of their two-car garage.
