Familiar faces, new roles
      The Staples Area Men’s Chorus (SAMC) welcomes a new director and a new accompanist. Upon the retirement of Stan Carlson, who served for 39 years as director and the departure of accompanist Jackie Tellers, the SAMC hired well known local musicians Steve Hoemberg and Sandy Paskewitz to take over as director and accompanist, respectively.

      BUS SERVICE FROM THE CITY OF STAPLES TO MOTLEY ELEMENTARY AND MOTLEY STAPLES MIDDLE SCHOOL: School bus drivers will contact new families on their route. Five Wings Spooky Art show October 22
      The Five Wings Arts Council will host a display of spooky art by students in the five county area (Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Wadena and Todd counties). Pieces should be hang-able (thumb tacks, tape or nails) and need not be matted or framed. Each piece must be labeled on the front with the student’s name, grade level, school, and town. Limit two pieces per student.
